Sharapova set the record, lost only Five games through four matches!


Maria Sharapova writes a little more history, this time a record in the Australia Open, first player to lose 5 games to qualify in the final quarter!

Maria Sharapova set the record for the fewest games lost in a Grand Slam, She will Play quarterfinals today in the Australian Open , having conceded just five games in the first four rounds. The previous record at the Australian Open is held by Steffi Graf (eight games) and the overall record at a Grand Slam event is held by Mary Pierce who lost four games on her way to the French Open 1994 quarterfinals.
