Sharapova beat Makarova, reaches into Australian Open Semi Final


Sharapova continued her out standing form at the Australian Open with a straight-set win over Ekatrina Makarova on Tuesday, conceding only nine games in five matches en route to a semifinal against Li Na. She had a 6-2, 6-2 quarterfinal win over fellow Russian and has spent just 5 hours, 15 minutes on court so far in the tournament, a record she extended with ease victory against Makarova. Almost half of women's draw sorted out for the semi-finals. Sharapova reaches her fifth Australian Open semi-final. This is the 5th Time, she reached in Australian Open Semi Final. She won the Australian Open title in 2008. She will play against Chinese sixth seed Li Na in the semi-finals on Thursday.

"I think the reason I started so well in this tournament is because I knew that I had to," Sharapova said. "Considering I didn't play any matches, I'm happy with my form. But, like I said, I'm always looking to improve. That's always my goal." "And my next match is against Makarova and I have to do the right things to beat her. "Obviously I want to be playing my best tennis towards the end of the second week."

Sharapova set the record, lost only Five games through four matches!


Maria Sharapova writes a little more history, this time a record in the Australia Open, first player to lose 5 games to qualify in the final quarter!

Maria Sharapova set the record for the fewest games lost in a Grand Slam, She will Play quarterfinals today in the Australian Open , having conceded just five games in the first four rounds. The previous record at the Australian Open is held by Steffi Graf (eight games) and the overall record at a Grand Slam event is held by Mary Pierce who lost four games on her way to the French Open 1994 quarterfinals.

Sharapova crushes Kirsten Flipkens in fourth round


Woooohoooo!!!! Another bagel and on top of that a bread stick. Masha sure seems focused and on a mission and I hope it last throughout the tournament.

Maria Sharapova beat Kirsten Flipkens 6-1, 6-0 on Sunday to continue dominating. Only Steffy Graf has done, eight game in her opening four matchs, when she won secong titles in Melbourne. She next plays fellow Russian Ekaterina Makarova, who ousted fifth-seeded Angelique Kerber

Maria Sharapova beats Venus Williams to reach 4th round of Australian Open


Yes!!! This is the what you called "Maria Sharapova" Game. It was a comprehensive, high-quality win for Sharapova. Her Returns The most impressive thing was today. But Other side. Vinaus williams(7 time grand slams winner), who could never drop her head, whatever the score.Maria Sharapova takes Vinus Williams out of the match from the first game and never let her in. Of-course Maria was playing really well at every moment. She was Playing so well and she wonn the first set over a seven-time Grand Slam champ. Her 6-1, 6-3 win was an all-around one, but it was also spiced with the spectacular. But over all it was a Maria Sharapova's Game. Beat Vinus Williams by6-1 6-3 and advance to the fourth round of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Sharapova flawless again, win over Misaki Doi in 2nd round


Maria have not loose any game till now in Australian open, win against Misaki Doi 6-0, 6-0 in just 47min. She spent only 1 hr 42 min in Melbourne Park in two game. She is flowless. She is just out standing.

No. 2 ranked Maria, the runner up here in 2011 beat Olga Puchkova 6-0, 6-0 in first match. "I've been playing really aggressively and doing the right things," Sharapova said. "It's not easy to be up so much because you can have a few let-downs. You just have to try to concentrate."

Maria Sharapova won her first match at Australian Open with the score 6-0 6-0


Maria Finished her first match of the year in first round australian open in 55 min, Beating Olga Puchkova, is a Russian living in Florida, 6-0, 6-0.
"After a couple of close games and a few break points, I certainly started to concentrate a bit better," she said. " I just wanted to focus on what was ahead of me and really be aggressive.Wow, Maria came close to perfection this morning at the Australian Open, very strong message to her rivals. 
Maria has inflicted a double bicycle wheel her compatriot Olga Puchkova, 6-0, 6-0 in 55min game with stats (6 Aces / 3 Double Faults, 68% of first ball, 18 winner). In the second round on Wednesday, Maria will play the Japanese Misaki Doi.

Maria Sharapova ready to rock in Australian Open 2013 after Injury


The 1st match of Maria will begin at 11.00 AM local time on Monday 14 Jan that is 5:30 AM on Monday in India. Starting the year with neutral yellow colors, new textured material and unique detailing of the straps. “It was pretty surreal,” Sharapova told Telegraph Sport, “because the next day I took the flight from Paris to Alicante on, like, some Jetstar airline. We were working on certain shapes ahead of the launch, which was coming up in August.
“I am sitting there in Murcia, Spain, which is really in the middle of nowhere and I was thinking, how surreal is this? Anyone else would probably be in St Barth’s right now or St Tropez, living it up.
But I absolutely loved it and I felt so proud that I was able to achieve that win and then go the next day to work on something that is so unique to what I do.”

It's been five years since Maria Sharapova won her first and only Australian Open title. The No. 2-seeded Sharapova will play fellow Russian Olga Puchkova at Rod Laver Arena.

Sharapova pulls out of Brisbane International with Collarbone Injury

Bad news to start this year 2013, Maria said package, it has a right clavicle injury, however nothing too severe, his New York doctor told him of this rest for a week. ‎Maria Sharapova has withdrawn from Brisbane International - Australian Open Series due to a right collarbone injury, but believes she'll be ready for the Australian Open.
She says a certain starter for the new year’s first grand slam – the Australian Open – and will overcome her right collarbone injury in the 12 days left until the first round. The injury flared 10 days ago and forced her withdrawal from a Korean exhibition match late last week.
"I had a bit of inflammation in my collarbone, and I sent (scan results) to a doctor in New York and he told me I couldn't really do much overhead training for about a week," she said. "So to be fair, I haven't really given myself a chance to pretty much hit any serves or anything over my head, So I just kind of ran out of time here."
